Browse Happy – a view of browsers

Again, I’m not against Microsoft or anything, i love a lot of their products. The only issue is Internet explorer has been there for long to be exploited, but a lof things which were considered as feature has now become a potential security risk (yes, consider active-x for instance). Now there are a lot of things that are improved on ie7, hey but wait -for someone who carea bout the standards it’s still lacking a lot of things.

I’m not sure why, but everytime i design a site i’ve to consider all the hacks for ie because it does not take in to account all the standards and does not support png (well atleast the aplha channels) Let alone those lets take the performance point of view, ie being integrated in to the OS it should be much much faster than any other browsers out there but take a look at this test results [click here] Firefox is about 600% faster than the ie, Now there could be other tests that proove ie to be great oh yeah we all know that.

Personally i love firefox, rather the mozilla based browser say like flock which is even better with standards and some of the cool features like desktop blogging, flickr photos and lot more stuff. I infact am posting this from the flock browser without even getting to the wordpress screens.

Ok, so what about all other browsers out there – For some there might be a personal preference of browsers ove the other, but there is pretty much not a lot of options out there. Opera for instance was charging you to use their browsers, which did not seem to be working (atleat after firefox came in to being) Now even opera is free, the best feature that i like in opera and not in other browsers is the “Full Screen” mode – yes it just means what is says FULL SCREEN.

Oh yes the mac dedicated – Safari is cool too and supports a lot more than internet explorer. So in simple words there are things that Microsoft does it well and really well and there are things that they screw up- so if ie7 can support png, why not release a patch for ie6 to do that. So are they expecting every other windows user to buy vista , btw they have over 7 different versions of it.
